Nick Gray wanted to redesign his personal site, nickgray.net. The priorities were:
- make the blog content more prominent;
- let people sign up for his newsletter and social feeds;
- give the site more of a thought leader vibe.
This post is a quick recap of the redesign including before and after shots.
I didn’t grab a screenshot of Nick’s site before the redesign. Here is a snapshot that is similar to the previous style. This version of the site linked to the blog and contact information, but otherwise had limited functionality.
This is the front page of the redesigned site as of 16/11/01. The site is a work in progress. Clicking on the play button triggers a popup video of Nick’s Ted Talk. Hovering over each of the social buttons gives it a unique colour highlight. The “recent notes” links are dynamically populated based on recent published content.
